Terry
During a 33 year career as a fireman in Sydney, mainly involved in rescue, I had not encountered the fear that was generated when my prostate cancer diagnosis was confirmed by Dr. Charles Chabert early in 2009.
Although this was devastating news, I was buoyed by the demeanour of Charles, whom I had only recently met.
I had my prostate removed in April 2009 and at all times I had full confidence in the support of Dr. Chabert. I was encouraged to look to the future and to the practical and emotional management of post operative life.
My wife, Kay, and I have felt that, along with Charles, we had bonded as a team and this feeling had assisted us greatly in the handling of the situation.
I thoroughly commend Charles to anyone finding themselves in my position and also would welcome calls or emails from anyone who would like to talk through the stages that Charles and Kay and I have already navigated.
Your sincerely,
Terry
